Rochester Senator Joe Robach is thrilled to announce that Ontario Beach Park is now open for swimming for summer of 2013.
There is no better way to welcome Rochester’s warm summer weather than at the sandy shores of Lake Ontario. Each year, residents and visitors alike come to soak up the sun and enjoy this beautiful beach operated by Monroe County Department of Parks.
Monroe County Lifeguards are now on duty and swimming will be permitted each day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Swimming is only allowed when lifeguards are on duty. The 2013 swimming season will continue through Labor Day
Please keep in mind that Lake Ontario is a large natural body of water. Swimming will only be permitted when conditions and water quality are favorable. A recorded telephone message will be updated daily at 753- 5887 with information on beach conditions and whether swimming is not permitted. Fortunately, if swimming is not allowed on any given day, the beach at the park will remain open for recreational use.
